The translated bible, especially in the OT, teaches hatred to non believers. Non believers of the self proclaimed god are evil, as a person who believe and follow the bible, how do you feel towards non believers? The self proclaimed god seems to always want to destroy anyone who do not believe in it, why would that be? If any other religion have the same teaching, please share your views.

but for the rest of the world, i have never seen hatred taught, nor does Judaism teach that i should hate those who don't believe as i do.

And thou shalt consume all the people which the LORD thy God shall deliver thee; thine eye shall have no pity upon them: neither shalt thou serve their gods; for that will be a snare unto thee.

Midnight, this is instructions to destroy the people living in Eretz Yisrael. Traditionally it is believed (and it can be found in the Torah) that they were wicked people, murders, adulters, etc. who could not be allowed to remain if a holy nation was to form. You can argue the historical accuracy of this in a historical debate section if you want. However, this is not an instruction for me to hate everyone who doesn't believe in Judaism and the Torah. This is also not an instruction for the Israelites to go to Gaul and kill pagans there, is it? or in Egypt? or Babylonia? or the Incan empire? This is dealing specificaly w/ the nations living in Eretz Yisrael (or the land of Canaan, which will become israel following it's conquest)

I think you must understand, ProLogic, that the God in the OT bible wasn't interested in converting other people to the religion of Judaism. Judaism seemed to be exclusive religion, where only Hebrews/Israelites/Jews can become Jews. God is more often punishing his own people than everyone's else.
This, of course can be either a good or bad thing, depending on how you look at thing. If you looked at Christianity and Islam, which are more inclusive, in allowing outsiders to join their religions, they have caused more global problems/crisises throughout their history than just Judaism confined to one or two kingdoms, probably because they are corrupted by political powers.

Ephesians 4: 11 And he gave to some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evengelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12. For the perfecting of the Saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13. Till we ALL COME to the unity of the faith, and a knowledge of the Son of God, UNTO A PERFECT MAN, UNTO THE MEASURE OF THE STATURE OF THE FULLNESS OF CHRIST. I really don't know how anyone could interpret those verses differently. gramps |
