Of course Adam and Eve knew everything, including the structure of atom etc. Unfortunately, there were only two of them in the beginning, and God has already punished them to work the earth, ie, to mow the land, to plant wheat etc. No time to to make paper or pen to write things down, and no time to encapsulated the paper in degradation proof materials so that it can last for 6000 years.

I believe it was a metaphore also. Even if they are for real, we have trouble finding and reading scrolls from 2,000 years ago, let alone 6,000.

Who says they didn't? It's kind of unrealistic, in my opinion, to think that everything somebody may have written down 6000 years ago survived intact and made its way into the pages of the Bible. I can't even manage to keep track of important papers I had on my desk yesterday!

Wouldn't it have been revrenced a little more though since it was from those people who were created directly from God? Shouldn't there at least be copies of the account? We have what Moses said, but he was either getting messages from God or he was being told these things by fellow Jews. They would have made refrence to the fact that Adam and Eve wrote something, anything! Jews are excellent record keepers.

If you could find holy books that weren't in the "original" canon of the Bible, would you read them to help understand God better?

Maybe there were, but surley Adam and Eve would have been credited for having written something!
