No. I disagree that this process was repeated with Jesus.

You're free to do so, but doesn't your knee get tired with all those quick reaction jerks you suffer?

Might I be so humble as to ask to what you are referring?

(as far as knee jerk reactions, wasn't it YOU who took my disagreement with your statement to mean something entirely different than I intended?)

No.
from the idiom site on the web:
"Knee jerk reaction
This is something with an automatic response. Its origin comes from the reaction one's knee gets when sharpely hit.

This sent in from a visitor:

The knee jerk is, in anatomy/physiology, one of the "reflex" reactions. The nerve signal travels from the point struck just below the kneecap to the spine and triggers the muscle response. The brain is not involved. Thus the main thrust of the idiom as used to denote an "unthinking" reaction. . . ."

Scott

My reaction to the notion that Jesus was brought into being the same way as Adam was in no way "unthinking". if you want to fault me for failing to elaborate, fine. Though it's not my obligation to do so with every post.

I just took the opportunity, while you were expressing your disbelief that it took a sperm and egg to create Jesus, to reaffirm for the sake of other readers my position that I reject Jesus' birth as having been miraculous in any way.

I don't consider the creation of Adam to be 'miraculous' either. God willed it, it was--nothing miraculous involved.

Scott

Then I'm unfamiliar with your application of the word miracle.

As I understand it,

mir·a·cle [mir-uh-kuhl]
–noun
1.an effect or extraordinary event in the physical world that surpasses all known human or natural powers and is ascribed to a supernatural cause.
2.such an effect or event manifesting or considered as a work of God.
