Default Books of the OT

Well, no doubt many people have views on which books of the OT have relevance for them. In my view, there are three which have merit.

These are: Song of Songs, which celebrates human sexuality, and really shouldn't be in the canon at all. I don't buy that thinking which says the song is Allegorical and is an expresson of Gods love for his people. Very clearly, it is about human love.

Job: Questions the supposed Goodness of God

Ecclesiastes: Which has a healthy sceptical view of God.

This my personal view, and if you think differently, fine, let's see what you think about the OT books.

Cheers

i dont like a certain book of the old testiment, but i like some of the chapters in it

i love genesis chapter1, first book in the bible, it has so many hidden truths that go hand in hand with science and big bang theory

My favorite is the Wisdom of Sirach.

Sirach 2:18 For equal to his majesty is the mercy that he shows.

Psalms approaches the exquisite, and few books are more significant than Exodus.

Psalms is good. Personally, I find the so-called wisdom literature the most engaging. Ah, but the Song of Songs...sublime. Have to read the translation by the Blochs ? They've really produced a most excellent translation, economical as it uses a third less words than the KJV, but nonetheless a work of great beauty.

Cheers
