Israeli and British forensic anthropologists and computer programmers have recreated what they think Jesus might have looked like. He has a broad face, dark olive skin, short curly hair and a large nose. The researchers think he would have weighed 110 pounds and been 5-foot-1-inch tall. Their evidence is reported in this month's issue of Popular Mechanics magazine. "Using archaeological and anatomical science rather than artistic interpretation makes this the most accurate likeness ever created," says TV reporter Jean Claude Gragard. "It isn't the face of Jesus, because we're not working with the skull of Jesus, but it is the departure point for considering what Jesus would have looked like."

The real difficulty here is giving the answer in cubits and spans. Given the inherent problems with quantifying the supernatural - not to mention such things as time dilation and length contraction, I suspect that the best we'll be able to do is offer a rough approximation. Given that, I'd guess that he was significantly larger than your typical Pixie but not so large as to dwarf a fully grown Unicorn.

Preposterous bullpuckie. At best science can prototype a typical 1st century CE Jew. Beyond that, things get very fuzzy very fast.

So, for example, we know from Genesis that the Sons of God (Angels) are not above taking (if you know what I mean) the daughters of men. We're also told that an Angel visited Mary, and .... well, she ends up pregnant. Now lets say that the Angel did it - or, perhaps helped. What is the typical height and complexion of an Angel?

These are not easy questions, and British forensic anthropologists would do well to stop embarrassing their profession.
