Pah,
To use your analogy from a different perspective: The person selling the house would dispute that there even is water on the floor in the first place. The substance for your analogy is within your point of view. You see water gushing in through holes created by contradiction, and others do not. The inspector also will not be without a point of view - in this case some will see water, some will not...

Back to the original post though. I don't see that there is common ground and the house leaking isn't a good analogy because you are talking about something that is a bit hard to misinterpret. If there's a puddle on the floor and rain coming through the ceiling, no thinking person would dispute that the roof leaks. In the case of the bible, it is a matter of interpretation. Some see errors and contradictions because *their* interpretation is full of error and contradiction. They choose not to believe anyone who has a different interpretation. For every error and contradiction, there are bible scholars who will logically refute them....and who is to say either side is wrong...or right...since there is no puddle on the floor.

All right let me take a look at this leaking roof and maybe some of you roof inspectors can clear some of these mysteries up for us....just a few at a time.
1) God is omnipotent but Jesus was able to die in the hands of men? Seems like a contradiction to me. 2) Jesus was the savior who gave us the word of God but had writer's block and didn't personally record any of it. why? 3) God's message is clear but your religion has thousands of differnt churches with different opinions 4) god is omnipotent but satan has demonic power 5) heaven hell exist but nobody can assess their location |
