In Genesis 2 & 3, the Tree of Life and Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil are known to be fruit-bearing trees, but it was never given as to what type of fruits these 2 trees bore.
All we are told is that the trees were planted in the middle of Garden of Eden, and that the fruit look good to eat: Quote:
Where or when did misconception (apples) originated from? Why do people assume it was apple that Eve ate? One thing is certain, eating apples since I was young, didn't give me knowledge about good or bad.

I fail to see what the misconception is. Everyone knows apples make you do evil things.

The Garden event happened. Some of the details are told in metaphor. Apples?....fruit?.... The tree of knowledge is a metaphor. Learn one concept...knowing good as opposed to evil.... and then the knowledge branches quickly in every direction. |

I recalled in the book of Enoch that when Enoch visited heaven, he saw Eden and the Tree of Knowledge. So I went back to look it up.
Quote:
What is a Carob tree? I don't know. Never heard of it, except in this Enochian text. And it described the fruit as being "clusters of vine", so it must be like grapes.

"Ceratonia siliqua, commonly known as the Carob tree and St. John's-bread, is a species of flowering evergreen shrub or tree in the pea family, Fabaceae. It is widely cultivated for its edible legume beans, and as an ornamental tree in gardens. So far there's no tree I know of that fits all these traits.
