Good day all.

My question is very plain and simple. Why does everyone put so much stock into the Bible? This intrigues me...

For Christians the bible is their bible. It's the word of god in book, so they feel very strongly towards it. It is the best selling book in the world by a sizeable majority...

It is their religion, the word of God is in that book, so it is their book. Of course there are other books about God, but this is the one that is supposedly the word of God. It has been used for at least a thousand years, so it only makes sense that the bible is the Christian book. Welcome to the forums, by the way.

Most Christians refer back to the Bible like it is what it says it is. They look at it like it is God's word itself on the written page...which could be true. But it is undeniably and ridiculously obvious that there is an overwhelming chance that this is not true in the slightest. That is why I pose such a question.
