Does who I date affect if I'm going to heaven or not? (salvation, grace)

I'm twenty years old and have OCD. I have been dating my boyfriend for four years. We are both Christians and plan to get married after we graduate from college. I love him very much and could not imagine my life without him. My OCD thoughts center around religion and me trying to be a good person. For about a year I have had this thought that if I date or marry him, I am going to go to hell. I know this isn't true becuase I am the only one responsible for where I'm going after I die. Still, this thought is very disturbing. I have talked to my mom and psychiatrist (I take meds for my OCD) about this and they both reassured me that it wasn't true. My boyfriend is also very supportive although I am starting to make him feel bad. Please give me your opinion on this and let me know if you think this thought is true.

It seems to me that the only thing that affects whether or not you will go to heaven is God's grace. If you love God and love others, I don't see anything that you have to worry about.

Unless he's an evil dictator planning a genocide, I don't think that you should give this a second thought.

I'm not a Baptist, but I am a Christian. I can't see any reason at all why who you marry would affect your salvation. I sincerely hope that nobody here will tell you that it does.

Thank you all for your replies. It's just really hard to ignore such a scary thought. Sometimes when I pray for God to tell me that it's okay to be with him, I have worse thoughts. Then, I feel like it's really God telling me I am going to Hell for being with him. Thus, the cycle continues. I mean, God wouldn't talk like that, would he?

I haven't quite grasped why you think you'd go to hell for marrying him...particularly if he's a Christian...or is it because you belong to different belief systems (Catholicism vs Protestantism for example) and feel this will be a problem?
