Hi again!
This time i have some questions regarding Abdu'l baha visits to USA in 1912 1- did He visit salt lake city in 1912? 2- did He knocked on the East Door of the Salt Lake LDS Temple? 3- did He wear red robe (if the answer of second question is yes)? 4- did He asked to meet Joseph F. Smith (The 6th president of the church), but He was refused? Thank You |

Abdul-Baha did visit Salt Lake City..and He went to an agricultutal conference there..
"That midnight He continued His journey to California, but at the end of another day's journey decided to stop at Salt Lake City, Utah. He went to the Kenyon Hotel. Soon, the following morning, the press was apprised of His arrival and reporters came to visit Him. An Agricultural Conference and Exhibition was in progress in Salt Lake City. There 'Abdu'l-Bahá ordered flower seeds for the gardens around the Shrines in the Holy Land." (H.M. Balyuzi, Abdu'l-Baha - The Centre of the Covenant, p. 284) Baha'u'llah wore a red robe or 'Aba: THE FAMOUS RED ROBE "TRADITION"[36] [36 See page 53.] It is related that an account is given of an Indian Muslim, a holy man of the eighth century, A.D., who, speaking of the "Great Day of God" to come, uttered these words: "In that day the Holy One will be found abiding in a land called Karkh. He will walk beside the river, wearing the dervish turban, and wrapped in a red robe. He will be teaching His followers on the banks of the river. Would that I might be privileged to enter His Presence, and to shed my life-blood in His Path." The red robe which Bahá'u'lláh wore when He was teaching His followers on the banks of the River Tigris was made of some pieces of Persian Tirmih. The wife and daughter of Bahá'u'lláh fashioned this 'aba in readiness for His return from the mountain land of Sulaymaniyyih. Karkh is the name of the district of Baghdad in which the Holy One dwelt. (Lady Blomfield, The Chosen Highway, p. 241) Your other questions seem unlikely.. but may be based on some Baha'i stories that developed. We have our own mythic lore. - Art

artha thank you for answering, you've helped me a lot
i was searching about all these in the last days .... anyhow, only 1st question was right, the others are made by covenant breakers (followers of Remey) this is my conclusion, because those are confirmed and told as true stories, specially the red robe and knocking the temple while wearing it! again artha thank you! |

Hi Katzpur,
just wanted to clarify, his visiting to the temple is not related to his meeting with President Smith, knocking door happened, then he asked to meet him this is what some NON mainstream Baha'i claims... But the real strange thing is not President Smith refused (He could be busy)... the strange thing is how He knocked the door and wanted to enter, at least His followers should warn him (if He didn't know), that LDS Temples are not open to public... |

Question. Marco.
Covenant breakers etc. Why are you repeating their questions if you know they have deviated from the correct path? Are you trying to prove them wrong or instigate some kind of debate about the false guardian |

No I think it's just innocent questions...
There's a lot of Baha'i lore that passed around.. We call it "Kitab-i-Hearsay".. You can even find a book called Baha'i Lore that has a lot of stuff made up of rumors people passed around that have little bearing on reality.. Unofficial Bahai Lore Also note.. the story about the Red Robe is a Tradition and concerns Baha'u'llah when He was in Iraq not Abdul-Baha... - Art ![]()
