Question Spirit (including or excluding spirit) rise after death?

Hi everybody!

I have a question about after life,
do you think after death Souls alone rise, or it contains within the spirit?
then another question pops out,
what about mind? is it part of the physical body, so it's fade like the body? or rise with the soul?

since i made Ruhi 1 last year, i read a lot about all these terms, but didn't get simple and obvious answer.
who could help me?

Thank You!

Marco welcome to the Forum!

So from your post I gather you had Ruhi Book One.. that's good because some of your questions I think could be answered there... but anyway, I'll give you some citations from the Writings that you're welcome to check out:

"The human spirit which distinguishes man from the animal is the rational soul, and these two names--the human spirit and the rational soul--designate one thing. This spirit, which in the terminology of the philosophers is the rational soul, embraces all beings, and as far as human ability permits discovers the realities of things and becomes cognizant of their peculiarities and effects, and of the qualities and properties of beings.

But the human spirit, unless assisted by the spirit of faith, does not become acquainted with the divine secrets and the heavenly realities. It is like a mirror which, although clear, polished and brilliant, is still in need of light. Until a ray of the sun reflects upon it, it cannot discover the heavenly secrets.

But the mind is the power of the human spirit.

Spirit is the lamp; mind is the light which shines from the lamp. Spirit is the tree, and the mind is the fruit. Mind is the perfection of the spirit and is its essential quality, as the sun's rays are the essential necessity of the sun."

Thumbs up

Hi artha!

Thanks for your respond.
hmm as a conclusion i may say that three make one... they all make one.
type of trinity lol ...

this question get to my mind after reading this statement from Shogi effendi:

When studying at present, in English, the available Baha'i writings on the subject of body, soul and spirit, one is handicapped by a certain lack of clarity because not all were translated by the same person, and also there are, as you know, still many Baha'i writings untranslated. But there is no doubt that spirit and soul seem to have been interchanged in meaning sometimes; soul and mind have, likewise, been interchanged in meaning, no doubt due to difficulties arising from different translations. What the Baha'is do believe though is that we have three aspects of our humanness, so to speak, a body, a mind and an immortal identity -- soul or spirit. We believe the mind forms a link between the soul and the body, and the two interact on each other.

(Shoghi Effendi, Arohanui - Letters to New Zealand, p. 88)

therefore wherever i go and find some Bahais, i'ld like to start asking the same question to get some ideas,
and new references which i didn't know before ....

and about your question (ruhi 1), yes you are right,
actually in that time i wasn't Bahai yet, and we made some extra discussion about the Bahai terms

Thanks again
