Do Baha'is believe there is such a thing as absolute truth? If so, can people know what that truth is, or is it beyond human comprehension?

As I just posted to you elsewhere, the Baha'i scriptures state explicitly that the ONLY absolute is God Himself, and that everything else is thus relative (called "contingent"). They also state that God is totally unknowable by any human initiative, and that our only knowledge of Him is through the teachings and knowledge of Him brought to us by the various Divine Messengers He periodically sends.... (A few of these Messengers are Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, and our Founder, Baha'u'llah. There will never be a "last" Messenger becuase Revelation is ongoing.) So basically, yes, God, being the only Absolute, is indeed beyond human comprehension. And everything else, as I said, is thus relative (including the various truths we see around us!). I hope this helps. Regards, Bruce |

Even if there was no absolute truth, that would be the absoulte truth itself
