What does it mean to be a gay or lesbian Unitarian Universalist? To me it means having a spiritual and religious home where I can be open and honest with my religious family about who I am, without fear of condemnation or rejection. In fact, it very much the opposite. They welcome all with open arms and without bias. Finding the UU church has meant that I don't have to continue my spiritual journey alone, I have others now for support and guidence when I need it. I never felt I truly had this in any other church, because I could not share all of myself with those churches, I always had to hold something back. I don't have to now, and it's a wonderful feeling.

I'd forgotten I'd written this. I should expand on it and include what helping my congregation become an official Welcoming Congregation has meant to me. I'll have to think on that...

Of course! I think it's open and running again... try it and see. I know Todd was doing some testing on it. |
