One of my coworkers remarked, when asked the question in the title, that he did not believe there were any decent texts out there. I think he misunderstood my question. I post it here.
Are there any good sources on the history of angelology out there. I mean a good, literary historical text. Not some overglorified, New Age, psychobabble, reconstructed garbage written by someone with only one name. A good text tracing the Judaic development of angels, Christian and Islamic views on angels, comparative religious studies on the subject, etc. and so on. You think I could figure this one out working in a bookstore but every book we have is what led to my description in the previous paragraph. They are garbage.

And I thought this was a Religious Education forum.
edit: I probably should have bashed a Christian. Or at least put forth some weak-minded philosophy about "objects" and "things" retreating back into semantical nonsense, somebody might answer what is rather a simple question easily answered on even non-religious forums.
