Michel , have you ever read the book " The Serpent and the Rainbow ", or seen the movie ? Quite interesting . The reporter trys to explain " zombies " and actually comes up with some pretty reasonable ideas . { the use of drugs etc. ** It is a true story , in that the reporter did research into Voodoo traditions . Other then that , I couldn't say .

There are more than one form of voodoo.
Santeria is the one that borrows the most from Roman Catholicism. Haitian voodoo emphasizes possessions. Hoodoo is folk magic mixed with voodoo.

I am very happy to read the post explaining voodoo.
I recall once when someone put a voodoo doll in my car back in the seventies and put a pin through the heart of the doll and when I saw it hanging on my rearview mirror I almost had a heart attack I was so frightened and for years I was terrified but now I am no longer afraid of those kinds of things because that is just a person displaying anger and if it worked then there would be more people dropping dead from hate. On the other hand as I read the beginning of this post I can see that some of this is very frightening to others and may allow people to have control over others if they allow it. I personaly now am not afraid of curses but I do believe in positive healing prayers just like many do and I am sometimes asking myself if I believe in one why not the other? All I know is I don't really have the answer so now I try only to wish good things for people and pray for good things. At this point in time I have no idea which works the best but to be safe only good thoughts and prayers. I would like to take this further where someone writes about someone predicting death and telling someone they would die in seven months or whatever and it happened. With Psychics that is caused a Prediction and when a Psychic gives someone such a prediction that person should ralize they no doubt have a medical problem that needs to be addressed by a Doctor and or medical tests and then perhaps the reason for that future death can be learned and medical treatment might keep that death prediction from coming true. if the Death predicted by the Voodoo is to be caused by an accident and we see that in our future then we can take precautions to try to avoid that accident. Most of the things I am understanding from voodoo is about like Psychic Predictions and Faith Healings and witchcraft. |

I haven't a clue as to what happened to her. But the power of suggestion is an incredible thing (not to negate the possibility of good or bad spells); a friend of my Father's in Africa had a glass eye (and therefore a spare). One day, just before going off on a trip which he did quite often (during which time food, whiskey etc misterioulsly vanished from his house), he accidentally left his spare eye out on the dining room table. When he came back, nothing was missing. ![]()

I liked the voodoo shop in the French Quater in New Orleans. Though I've yet to see anything that would make me believe in curses but I have seen things that've made seriously contemplate spirits being trapped in this reality.
