Question Jewish Voice? Or Christian Voice?

I'm definately not the type to watch early-morning religious TV, but while surfing around trying to find something to watch, I noticed something that made me itch.
"Jewish Voice"

Let me remind you that I don't watch religious TV, but from my experience I have never seen a Jewish religious program. Out of curiousity, I flipped to channel 75 and began watching.
I was baffled at what I saw.

From what it looked like, they were trying to convert Jews into Christians. It was one of those 'donate your money and help convert precious souls' things.
Wanting to know more, I scoured the internet and found their website, which provides the same message.
From the sound of it, these are a group of 'Jewish Christians'. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought there was no 'inbetween' -- you are either Jewish or Christian. (As I view it, if you believe in Jesus and that he is the messiah, then that makes you Christian...) It almost sounds like a cult recruitment sort of thing. According to the show, they provide medical service, worshipping centers, etc. to those who convert.

For those who are curious, here is the website:
http://www.jewishvoicetoday.org/

Make what you will of it. This program has me so confused that I just had to get someone else's opinion. Could you guys (and gals) fill me in, please?

The inbetween is the Messianic Judiasm. The key is the interpretation of writings attributed to the prophet Ezekiel who prophized the rebirth of Israel and the coming of the Messiah. Many Jews say that Jesus failed to meet the qualifications of a prophet (JS need your help on the specifics), while others feel he made the cut. A messianic Jew is one who consideres their religion to be Jewish but sees Jesus as the Messiah.

I don't know what you saw on the show but Messianic Jews are the inbetween you asked about.

Most Jews would say they're Christians (and that there isn't an inbetween)...they say they're Jewish and that there is. All comes down to definitions, I suppose. But in the case of that show, you're definitely hearing more of the Christian side of Messianic Judaism. Your modern non-Christian Judaism isn't very big on conversion.

But no, it's not really a cult, any more than Christianity or Judaism are.

For Jewish qualifications for being the Messiah, check out http://www.hanefesh.com/Jewish-Christian_Talk.htm Haven't read through all of it, but it seems pretty accurate.

Most messianic jews i've met are really just christians who want to feel like they are getting closer to Jesus. My rabbi just had a class on "Jesus the Jew" very good stuff.

From what i've seen there are several reasons why Jesus was not the Moshiach ben David...
His lineage is questionable, there are two different lineages given both going through Joseph...
He did not gather in the exiled jews...Isaiah 11:12
did not bring about the promised third temply (actually the second temple was still around during his time) Ezekiel 37:26-27
global peace was never ushered in during his life and has yet to be ushered in since his death... Micah 4:3

there are more but those are just a few that don't qualify him, in the eyes of most jews, as the Moshiach.
