What do you gain? (Jesus, Earth, Deuteronomy, salvation, Revelation)

There's alot of us trying to explain why we believe what we do? My questions are: What do you recieve? What do you gain? Is it just for fun? What is your reward for doing what you do? Is it for what you recieve in this life now or is it for eternal life?

I believe what i do because i know God and Jesus are there, waiting to embrace those who are loyal to Them. Everything i do now is done to further my strength in God and Jesus. We may live one hundred years on this earth, but an eternity in heaven, and i would rather spend it in a good place.

I guess I don't think about it as "doing something for a reward." It's not about *me*. I believe I am here for no other reason than to glorify God and to do His will. Everything I do is to please Him, for no other reason than to please Him.

I have received peace in my heart. Though my mind might become troubled by events around me, my heart remains at peace. With this peace comes a joy.

We please God when we have faith in Him.

We please him when we are obedient.

We please him when we offer praise.

"Whoso offereth praise glorifieth Me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I show the salvation of God."

We please Him when we seek Him out in order to know Him better.

"That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God."
-Colossians 1:10

We please him when we love and revere (fear) him.

"And now, Israel, what does the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul."
Deuteronomy 11:12

We please him when our behavior reflects our faith.

"But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased."

"To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice."

I did not "believe" in order to gain a thing. In fact I had to die and give up everything.

But in dying to my old self, I have truly gained a new life. But that was not my impetus.

John 12:24 I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. 25 The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. 26 Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.

If you didnt believe in order to gain anything, then why believe?
