An idea that I have for a book.

I've been trying to read some of the Abrahamic holy books, so that maybe I could combine them all into one volume. The Old Testament(First Testament), New Testament(Testament of Jesus), Book of Mormon(Mormon Testament), and the Qu'ran(Testament of Mohammad).

I'm mostly going on other translations, that is, a friend of mine has a copy of the Scriptures translated by Jewish scholars without Christian bias, and I intend to use the KJV of the New Testament because of its beautiful writing and wide acceptance. Obviously there's only one translation of the Book of Mormon. I have a copy of the Qu'ran in English that I might use if I like it, but I don't know much about the Qu'ran yet.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated, as well as suggestions for other books that might be included. I'm mostly going on canonical books, mostly because I don't want to go through the hassle of retyping all the gnostic gospels.

what strategy do you have to combine them?

i am afraid i can't help you. i believe there is nothing missing in Qur'an. that would be wrong for me to combine it or to help someone to combine it with other stuff.

That's okay.

I don't really understand what you mean by strategy, though. I just intend to put them all together in one volume, mainly for study and practical purposes, not religious ones. Old Testament first, then New, then Mormon, then Qu'ran.

Don't forget all the Baha'i Scriptures.

That's going to a difficult book to lift.

Precisely.

I'm doing it mostly for myself, not to be published. I doubt any publisher would be willing to take up something like that, as there would be controversies such as we've not seen since Da Vinci code was published. (even though they're willing to publish utter crap these days...)

Interesting, you have your work cut out for you. How familiar are you with all the texts your going to be dealing with? Sounds that you are the most unfamiliar to the Qu'ran. To do justice for the Muslims, you should read the Qu'ran before engaging in this task.

I have heard that the KJV is skewed and /or misleading. My recommendation is used a parallel Bible or read as many versions of the Bible to fully grasp the meaning of Scripture.

My hopes and prayers go out to you in this tedious and important ambition.

if you put those books next to each other, that would make them together. you say you have an idea of making a book. therefor i assume you're either going to chose some parts from each or you're going use some logic to make that book. i wonder what strategy you have to make the book. hope make it clear. sorry for my English. it's not perfect

The one i have is the KJV. Are you sure about what you just said? if that's the case, then which version do you prefer to use?
