I rather doubt Muslims would actually be terribly impressed. I think it all very well that people focus on "common ground" issues to make inroads, but once the niceties are done with then the massive, unmovable, theological questions will crop up. I find it unrealistic to think that Muslims would be overly supportive of Mormon theology and vica versa. As long as they stick with superficialities though, there shouldn't be too many problems.

I really don't understand the premise of the article. I've never felt any particularly deep ties to the Muslim religion. I guess I could see why Muslims might want to follow in the footsteps of Mormonism to try and redefine itself in American culture, considering that less than 150 years ago being a Mormon was akin to being a terrorist.

Christianity also includes the Abrahamic tradition and concludes with the revelation of Jesus. It does not consider the additional revelation of Mohammed. In other words, this is the latest revelation of the Abrahamic tradition. Judaism, is the Abrahamic tradition and it does not consider the Jesus revelation or the Mohammad revelation. In other words, this is the latest revelation of the Abrahamic tradition. If one were to name a religion that does not follow in the footsteps of any other religion, then it is Judaism. However even this is not strictly true,...for if one were to study the even earlier religion of Sumeria, then it becomes self evident that Judaism itself is following in the footsteps of other religions.
