the right religion (contradiction, Buddhism, beliefs, homosexual, translation)

How do you know you are in the right religion? Some people are born into it while others choose it over the years. Unless you have educated yourself with other walks of faith, how do you know that the path you’re walking is the right path?

I have explored and studied many faiths and I still do explore and study many faiths, I guess that goes without saying otherwise I wouldn't be on RF. Buddhism is the only thing that makes sense to me and the only thing that is without contradiction, Buddhism is the only religion that I have found where people agree 100% and do not argue the meaning, translation or interpretation although we have different ways of practicing. Buddhism is compatible with science and doesn't fear truth or change but rather encourages and embraces it. Buddhism does not point fingers and presume to tell others of their fate after this life nor is it hypocritical or prejudice. I could go on and on but in the end my religion is peace, love, compassion and understanding how can that be wrong?

I was born into the LDS church. And after years I gradually developed a personal witness of the truth of my church. I don't think it's neccesary to try different religions to learn the truth of one. For example(and no offense intended to anyone) I don't nee to experience being homosexual to know i don't want to be. I do think it's nice to learn about other religions but It's not to know whether mine is true or not. It's simply to better understand other beliefs.

I guess that's why it's called faith. I think people choose a religion that is 'right' for them, not necessarily the 'right' one doctrinally. I have been trying my whole life to find one doctrinally because I believe that is what matters most to God, but then concept of God was instrinsic for me having been raised in an atheistic household. The 'right' religion satisfies some basic need for worship in the individual and that is done in an obviously myriad of ways. To sort through all the varied paths is up to us.
