Haha, I do no spying. =D My in laws own one of their distributors, though.

I know, so was I.

Seriously, it's bad business for any corporation to fund such things. Even if you don't think it's a big deal, many of your customers will.

Not necessarily. Not everyone who drinks beer doesn't like gay people or certain types of sex, and by funding something like this they may loose some business from Christians, but they stand to also gain customers from other communities. You can argue that the ad is tasteless, but that scene is huge in SF. They stand to make a ton of money from it.

And, I'd also be willing to bet that 6 months from now, only 1/4 of the people angry now will still be boycotting.

I hear that there's a lawsuit on about the ad, though. Apparently the logo was used somewhere without permission. Not sure on the details though.

Whatever they gain is but a small minority to what they can possibly lose. If that's the crowd they want, then be prepared to take loses. It's a stupid move from a business standpoint.

I'm sure there have got to be ways to attract the GLB crowd that don't offend another, probably larger, group.
