Theologically if you take the current teaching of mainstream christianity, as compared to the theology of Islam, then no one cannot be a muslim and a christian.

Idealogically though I can see that it can happen. She may not get it all the way 100% but she's got the idea. If Allah is Allah, and He sent Jesus, Muhammad, Moses, Abraham, and all the other prophets with the same messege, then they are the same. Jesus is the servant of Allah just as Muhammad was, and in the same way. The way I see it a devout muslim is a better christian than some christians are. If Jesus came back today, I couldn't imagine him giving a sermon in a pulpit or participating in church service. I can however imagine him making salaat in a masjid.

Also Jesus prayed in prostration multiple times a day and encouraged his followers to the same. Muslims prayer consists of prostration, and I have yet to see a group of mainstream christians prostrate at any time. Jesus prayed to his Lord, muslims pray to the same Lord, some christians pray to Jesus. Jesus prayed at set times as well at least three times a day that I have read, muslims make prayer five times, and I do not know of any set prayer regimen ordained in christian faith. So I feel muslims theologically and idealogically are closer to what Jesus wanted from his followers, than what some christians are today.

In short if you take christianity to mean what Jesus was actually talking about and teaching then there is no discrepancy at all. If you take christianity to mean what is taught in a church, then it is impossible to reconcile the two.

[quote=*Paul*;891788]1st John 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

Surah: 4 Aya: 171
O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, "Three"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs.

St. John 10:36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

Peace
1st john 5,1
Whoever believes that jesus is the messiah,
is a child of God.

Quran 3,45
When the angels said,"O Mary,God gives you
glad tidings of a word from Him,who's name
will be the MESSIAH.

And I thought I was stretching it when I sometimes agree with Shi'as and sometimes with Sunnis on certain concepts. :P

However in all seriousness, more power to her.

Her beliefs seem to be more Muslim then Christian though. We believe that Jesus was either saying son of God figuratively or that it was a mistranslation of "servant".

http://www.rickross.com/reference/nationofislam/nationofislam72.html

Farrakhan said the same thing--then again the NOI is pretty fringe itself.

"Christian" is a very diverse term...some Christians think Jesus is a God separate from the Father, some think he and the Father are part of one greater Godhead, some don't even believe in God at all, some think Jesus was a prophet of God. "Christian" to some people means "believing Jesus as an incarnation of God", but to others it means only "following the teachings of Jesus"--which most Muslims do quite well. Some of my favorite stories of Jesus come from Muslim hadith, actually.

So no, I don't think it's that hard, as long as you aren't a Christian who worships Jesus as God. But those Christians are a minority.

She believes that Jesus is the son of God in the sense that all humans are the children of God and that Jesus is divine just as all humans are divine because God dwells in them.
I did not read the whole thing, however does she believe Jesus died on the cross or no?
Did he die to save our sins or no?
Or did someone else die on the cross that looked like Jesus.
Two major differences in the religion would lie here.

Just thinking about this subject as finding it very hard, looking like me in the UK as I look identical to Yeshua and so young people hit me or are rude to me for fun in the street….
You can not follow Pharisee (John, Paul, Simon) rubbish and Yeshua anyways and why Christians are Anti-Christ to begin with…..yet on points need to be following Yeshua it is very similar, as they are all laws of a Nazarite (Zan-A-Rites), which is why I get assaulted for looking like me (a man)….

2)Don’t drink alcohol.
3)Do not cut your hair or beard.

There's way too many contradictions between Islam and Christianity for one to be able to be both a Christian and a Muslim. It's not possible. Unless you want to say that she is a good Christian and a horrible Muslim, or a good Muslim and a horrible Christian. Or perhaps both a horrible Muslim AND Christian.
