I was wondering, if more people go to hell instead of heaven, does that mean that Lucifer won?

For the sake of this thread, are assuming that the Lucifer character is God's henchman or no?

If no, then it's a good question. What is "winning" where God and Lucifer are concerned? Would God have really won if he (in all his unlimited power) allows so many people/souls to go to hell?

Maybe it would help to look at motives. God seems to want everyone to love and fear him; but many of us don't believe in him let alone feel any kind of emotion towards this character. So in that, has he failed already? What is God's idea of success?

And then, what is Lucifer's? Once we establish these we can probably go round by round.

Well, no one knows the mind of God, so no one can really say what his idea of success is. But we can determine the goals he has set for us to live by, which are his ultimate plans. So, I figure that if the majority of mankind defies God's ultimate plan and enters into eternal damnation, then God failed.

And then, what is Lucifer's? Once we establish these we can probably go round by round.

From how I currently understand the fall of Lucifer, he was given one chance to submit to God, but he didn't. So God cast him down. Realizing that he will never succeed God in heaven, he'll try to "deceive" as many people here on Earth and prevent them from surrendering to God's ultimate plan. And if more than half of mankind becomes "deceived" and are damned, then Lucifer must have succeeded.

Understanding how unrealistic measuring quantities of salvation is, this is simply hypothetical.

i don't know if this would mean the darkside wins? the books say that the darkside will have it's day in the sun, but will lose it when it's said and done.

in my opinion, i think we all go to wence we came. perhaps some of us continue on in some form or another, and the ones who screwed up just return to the source? i guess we all find out what happens when we leave this dimension.
