You missed my point. If women are to wear the hijab because men are too weak to control their baser instincts, then men also should wear the hijab since I've seen the same behavior from women.

Telling someone their dress looks like a sack is hardly ever polite. If you don't like it you don't need be insulting about it.

Both men and women are told in the Qur'an to be modest. The Qu'ran does not say how modest you must be but for women to cover the chests and men to cover from navel to knee. They are free to cover as much more as they feel is proper for their situation. When people start dictating what other people are to wear then it stops being Islam and begins being their twisted version of it.

His whims do not represent Islam. If he's that controlling there I do not doubt there are other problems in the relationship and I also doubt they can be neatly blamed on Islam and not him.

My SO (who is Muslim, and was born in a Muslim country and has lived there half his life) has told me he would rather not have me cover, but it's my choice how I dress.

I do not like the line of reasoning from the last page or so... that women need to cover so that they can be treated like human beings by men, whom otherwise would be panting and trying to hump her leg.

If men are such dogs, as many have asserted, why has the burden of this responsibility been placed on women? Why must women cover themselves and avert their eyes? Why are men not required to cover their eyes when a woman is about, if they are such pigs?

I am surprised that you come across just the negative cases, and I am sure you can come across the positive cases IF YOU WANT TO.

If it was a matter of opnion i would say alot about christianity, how they looks like, their acts, etc. but i'll prefer not to insult christianity because one member of them and Islam taught us to respect all religions.

If you don't like how they wear so you have to resepct it at least because they believe it's part of their religion as you believe Jesus was God.

As Peace did say don't just pick the bad example and try not to judge the whole religion by one person or by a specific group of them.

For example my fiance, she said that she couldn't understand christianity then converted to Islam by her own will because i told her before that i have no problem to get married with any girl from the people of the book and what matter for me the most is the love between us. Then, she became interested in islam and converted after a while because she saw how i treated her, she loved the way i worship and obey the only God almighty and fear no one but him. After a while she came asking if i'll force her to wear hijab like what she hear about SOME muslims but i told her that hijab is the right thing to do in islam but if you are not ready now to wear so i won't force you because this is between you and God and if you did it, so it won't be for me. Until today she didn't wear it yet and i have no problem with it but of course i pary that one day she will do it.
