Psalms 90

From JW.org:

"God used Moses to write the first five books of the Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. He also likely wrote the book of Job and Psalm 90."

JWs

Why does JWs thinks that it is likely that Psalms 90 was written by Moses?

Thanks!

that would be because the subscription at the beginning of the psalm says:

A prayer of Moses, the man of the true God

The subscriptions are like short descriptions of the content. Some will say "A song of David when he was hiding from Saul" or 'A melody of David' or 'A song by the sons of kora'

The psalms are actually songs used for worship in the temple...the writers of the psalms vary widely. The fact that psalm says its a prayer of moses would likely mean it was written during the time of moses and possibly by him or at least dictated to a scribe by Moses.

In the title it says Psalm 90 was written by Moses

Poetically the book is a reflection of the book of numbers and so its appropriate to begin with a Psalm from the deep past of Moses
