In Mark the story says they did so, and that is one way we know its a non literal account by the way:
[Mar 16:19-20 NIV] 19 After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. 20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.
Another way is to look at the gospel
Matthew. First there is the genealogy that is tweaked so that it can be arranged in groups of 14. Hence it does not match his other geneology. Then there are plenty of other tells such as Matthew's redefinition of the word 'Fulfill'.
First of all people only listen to what they want to hear. If you don't know that then you haven't paid attention.
The rest of this seems to me like you are here to make everyone think you are an actual Christian. How can we tell you apart from an imposter? You certainly seem defensive, almost practiced at it. Of course I don't know if its your aim, but its totally unnecessary to do that. You don't have to prove what you cannot prove.
You aren't the only person who has tried, and its a mistake to do it. There is no way to prove you are a Christian online. Really no one can know internally what you truly think. For all we know you are one of those people hurt in a church who have come here to provoke an allergic response against Christianity. Trying to claim the books in the bible are divinely organized and divinely protected? Its patently unsupportable and comes from the 19th century isolated USA where people only had the bible to go on and a preacher. I've read it in the old books. Its not supportable. Our bibles are not a book but a library, and each author has a perspective: an interpretation.
